Needless to say, I am a first-time iPad user. I really liked how well the guide was organized and I was able to find step-by-step instructions in the troubleshooting section. Just for kicks, I decided to skim the rest of the manual. I found some great material regarding features I didn't even know the iPad had. I learned how to use FaceTime and where to find free stuff like games and books. Some people may call this manual too simple, but the simple truth is that this book contains much more knowledge than a Getting Started instructional booklet. It teaches an iPad user how to get going and then goes on to tell them how they can make their experience even better. In addition, everything is linked and I was never left flipping pages looking for an answer. It seems to me that the author knows his audience very well, seeing as someone who would buy this might need some extra... Being on the wrong side of 50, I had no desire to play games or watch movies when my daughter gave me an iPad for my birthday. I just wanted to read some (preferably free) Kindle books and maybe check my email once in a while. Having this for reference really aided me. I no longer have to constantly pester my daughter. I even found some free books to read online with the help of this how-to. 24 of 25 people found the following review helpful: A straight-forward guide with no technical jargon., Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: iPad 2 Survival Guide: Step-by-Step User Guide for Apple iPad 2: Getting Started, Downloading FREE eBooks, Taking Pictures, Making Video Calls, Using eMail, and Surfing the Web (Mobi Manuals) (Kindle Edition) This is a straight-forward guide with no technical jargon. This may sound ridiculus to some but even the most common sensical tips in the guide were very helpful to me. I highly rommend this guide, even if you previously owned an iPad or iPhone this guide is very helpful. |
